Volunteer
In addition to dues and donations, we need supporters who want to help with our projects and activities. We have many things to do! How much of our mission and goals we accomplish will depend on our volunteers.
Anyone!
As a new organization, working statewide, there are many possible jobs ranging from participating in local area activities to working statewide. If you are interested in volunteering, download and print the SUPPORT FORM in Adobe .pdf format and complete the Volunteer section.
Help With A Survey
If you have studied the information in the Projects/Survey Section, you will know that surveying the state for significant barns is a very large project, one that will take several years. If you are interested in working with 4-H, Future Farmers, Local Historical Society, Library, etc., in helping with this, use the SUPPORT FORM or e-mail to Contact Us .
Be A Board Member
We are seeking Board Members in the following state regions: Southwest. View this map for more details on these regions.
If you are interested in serving on the Board consider that members:
We have at least 3 meetings each year in a central location
Communicate by e-mail, so a computer & Internet service is needed.
Are elected for 3-year terms and not more than 2 consecutive terms.
Join at the Patron Level ($100 per year).
Spend a minimum of 120 hours/year (10 hour/month) on Alliance activities.
Serve on a committee, often as Chair or Vice-Chair.
Are encouraged to help at the Sampler Festival and the KBA Barn-Fest.
Represent KBA in your region.
Financially, cheerfully fund the cost of doing all the above (travel, lodging, etc., etc.). Generally, the Board is not reimbursed for expenses.
